FAQs

What is a registered/licensed naturopathic doctor?

Naturopathic doctors are experts in root cause medicine, disease prevention, and health optimization.

In order to become a registered/licensed naturopathic doctor in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, one must attend an accredited naturopathic medical school, pass rigorous board exams, and register and maintain their registration requirements with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

Can you be my primary care provider?

I believe that primary care providers are an essential part of any care team. However, I do not provide primary care services at this time. I recommend that all patients have a primary care provider in addition to the care I provide that they can see on an as needed basis.

Do you run labs?

In most cases, labs are an initial part of my work with patients. Lab testing allows both the doctor and patient to gain precise insight in to their health and make targeted and informed treatment recommendations based on the results. I utilize various of lab tests and companies ranging from traditional blood labs to functional labs (stool analysis, salivary/urinary hormone panel, blood labs, breath tests, etc.). Lab pricing varies per test and is always presented to each patient prior to their purchase of the recommended labs.

Do you accept medical insurance?

Naturopathic doctors are out of network providers in the state of Minnesota, therefore I do not directly bill medical insurance. I do accept HSA and FSA for payment and recommend that patients verify HSA/FSA benefits prior to their appointment.

Patients with medical insurance have the option to request a super-bill after their appointment which they can submit to their insurance company.

What is your cancelation policy?

Appointments canceled less than 24 business hours from the appointment time will be charged for the full cost of the visit. Exceptions are made on a case-by-base basis in the event of an emergency.
